YES SIR!

S.E.E.D. For Today_Obedience

Scripture "If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land" Isaiah 1:19 NIV

God is not always interested more in our sacrifices although we are commanded to do so, but sacrifice without obedience is nothing to Him. Isaiah is presenting this message to God's people because of their rebellion towards God. He says to them why do you continue to invite punishment? Your head is injured and your heart is sick. The Lord through the prophet is expressing Himself to His people  those who have blatantly rejected His love and care for them. God expresses I get no pleasure when you come to worship me, your convocations and your celebrations, your prayers mean nothing to me. God still takes compassion on His people and offers them pardon instead of punishment. He tells them to wash themselves, that their sins would be out of His sight and to give them up. He calls on them to settle the matter, He says though you have done much if you be willing and obedient you will have plenty. All that keeps us from having the life we desire in God is our stubbornness. He is not asking us to be perfect but He is calling us to a life  of obedience, to be open and responsive to His commands. God wants a yes, not a maybe, not I don't know. In the military a soldier is bound by his oath to his country to obey all the ordinances, superiors and all who have authority over them. They do not talk back, they give no excuse, when they are commanded to do their response is Yes Sir!

Example Obedience is compliance with an order, request or law or submission to another's authority.

Exercise Read Isaiah 1:1-20 in the New Living Translation Bible, Journal and talk to God about your lack of obedience to God's will for your life. When you chose to accept Christ's offer of redemption you gave up your rights as a free man. How long will we live in treason towards God, that is not the reason we enlist. It is time to get into compliance, why continue to invite punishment through disobedience.

Devotion Lord my prayer today is one of repentance. Please forgive me of my disobedience towards You and Your law. I present my body as a living sacrifice in compliance to Your word, that all your intentions for the use of me be fulfilled. I pray that I do not reject your commands, but to embrace them for obedience is our gift to You. I know that obedience is more pleasing to you than sacrifice and that submission is better than offering. My goal is to please You and make You smile. I submit in obedience, Yes Sir! In Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

THE SAFE PLACE

S.E.E.D. For Today___ Safety Scripture "God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble." Psalms 46:1 New Life Version In light of all that is going on in our world God is the most dependable person we know. Murder, and violence plague our city's and nothing seems to be safe anymore. When everything seems to be falling apart God is our safety, our refuge from the storms of life. He doesn't protect us in order to pamper us, He shelter's us so He can strengthen us to go back to life with it's duties and dangers. Trouble describes people who are in tight places in a corner and unable to get out, but we are not to be afraid. The earth may change and things will be in utter chaos, but in the Lord we have safety. Though everything around us and in us seems to be restless, God is in control. God is our safe place, in His will, in His hands He got the whole world, He formed it, shaped it, created it, and man co...

"Your Time Is Coming!"

"My Destiny and it's timing is in the hand of God." Psalms 16:5 Your way of life, your fortune, your fate, your portion comes from God. Knowing God is to know that He operates in rhythm, seasons, or times. Ecclesiastes 3 breaks down very intricately the seasons, or timing of a man's life or destiny. It tells us in vs.1 that, "Everything on earth has its own time and its own season" ( CEV ) or " Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses." ( GNT ) Being in sync rhythmically with God is so vital to the believer, operating in boundaries of our destiny or fortune, is the ability to flow in purpose. God has a purpose for each of us, you will find it to be your greatest joy as you discover the privilege of understanding the intention of God for your life. There are times as believers we find it difficult to accept what God has given us. There will be times when your ideas of what you want may get in the way of you and God...
