THE KEY TO LIFE

S.E.E.D. For Today_Choice

Scripture "Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying Him and committing yourself firmly to Him. This is the key to your life." Deuteronomy 30:19a; 20 NLT

Since we are created in the image of God, we have minds to think with, and a will to decide with; and God calls us to make right decisions. Moses made it clear that making this decision isn't a difficult task. In Israel's case the choice was between trusting God and enjoying the bounties of the land or turning to idols and experiencing the curses given in the covenant. It's either life and blessing or death and cursing is this such a difficult decision to make. Of course today the choice is between eternal life or eternal death, salvation by the grace of God or condemnation by the righteousness of God. The sensible decision is to choose life but many struggle with this choice. Moses called all creation to witness this great opportunity for God's people. The same opportunity then is the same opportunity given to us today. "In Him we live, and move and have our being." The choices that we don't make could ruin our future forever.

Example Choice is the act of choosing; the act of picking or deciding between two or more possibilities.

Exercise Read Deuteronomy 30:11-20 Journal or discuss with God the choices you make daily. Do they reflect that you have made a sound choice to love and obey, and commit yourself firmly to Him. For the most part many of us hang in the middle, we are not giving up either. But you must make a choice, life or death, blessings or curses there is no other way. The answer is not just coming to church, the answer is being in a faithful relationship with God.

Devotion Lord my prayer for today is that you forgive me of the choices I have made, but today I choose life and blessings. I thank You for giving us this great opportunity. Lord help me search You continually, denying myself of the control to run my own life, but I know that if I lose my life I will have it. I thank You for always making Your will known to us and not destroying us, thank You for Your love it gives me the strength to say I do in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

A MATTER OF HUMAN DIGNITY

S.E.E.D. For Today__ Humanity Scripture "So God created human beings in His image. In the image of God He created them. Genesis  1:27 NLT In light of everything that we are facing in our society today, police brutality and the horrific and senseless crimes that we commit against one another mankind must remember that we are destroying God's masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10 tells us;  "For we are God's masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago." This was never God's plan He knew that after Adam sinned that all mankind would no longer have His nature so He sent His Son into the world that we would again be like Him. He knows the heart of men, and His message to us is to love one another as you love yourself. Love and hate are at war, this is not about race, this is a matter of human dignity. Example Humanity is the human race the action of humanity is humanness, benevolence, compassi...
