The Wardrobe & The Lion

S.E.E.D. For Today__Image

Scripture "Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God___truly righteous and holy." Ephesians 4:23-24 NLT

The Ephesians had put off the old self when they first came to Christ. Paul in effect challenges them to stop the repeated putting on of the old garments, the old style of life. Those who live for God must do so by repeatedly putting off. The problem is we have to stop putting on the old garments, they should not be comfortable or natural. We have worn them so long that they naturally drape us and we don't realize what our wardrobe consist of until we see God. We cannot effectively change our wardrobe until our thinking has been altered or have had alterations. For many image is everything, but not the image of who we are but the image of what we were created to be like. We struggle with seeing ourselves as God intended us to. You are not a kitty, you are Kings and Queens created in the image of God. God is trying to show you the image and the nature of your wardrobe. Although you are still transforming when you look in the mirror you should not see the old you, but began to visualize the new you. Put on your new nature in your mind and let the Spirit renew your thoughts and your attitudes, no more meowing you were created to roar.

Example a representation of the external form of a person or thing, likeness, resemblance.

Exercise Read Ephesians 4:17-32 Journal and talk to God. We have our own role in choosing our divine wardrobe, daily we must set aside the garments of the old man. We must put on what we are and see it every time we look at ourselves. You were created in the image of God, "They will walk after the Lord. He will roar like a lion. Indeed He will roar And His sons will come trembling from the west." He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Ask God to renew your mind through the Spirit and continue to work on your new wardrobe, in Christ image is everything.

Devotion Lord I pray for a spiritual stylist, which is the Holy Spirit. Whenever I dress in old garments or self He will come and dress me for the day. Lord I pray that I not be fashioned after the world but that I be transformed by the renewing of my thoughts and my attitude. Lord give me the strength that I not put on the garments of my past, for sometimes when life gets hard we are more comfortable putting on something old because it's comfortable. But help me be mindful that I must put on a new outfit daily, for daily I am being renewed in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

THE SAFE PLACE

S.E.E.D. For Today___ Safety Scripture "God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble." Psalms 46:1 New Life Version In light of all that is going on in our world God is the most dependable person we know. Murder, and violence plague our city's and nothing seems to be safe anymore. When everything seems to be falling apart God is our safety, our refuge from the storms of life. He doesn't protect us in order to pamper us, He shelter's us so He can strengthen us to go back to life with it's duties and dangers. Trouble describes people who are in tight places in a corner and unable to get out, but we are not to be afraid. The earth may change and things will be in utter chaos, but in the Lord we have safety. Though everything around us and in us seems to be restless, God is in control. God is our safe place, in His will, in His hands He got the whole world, He formed it, shaped it, created it, and man co...

"Your Time Is Coming!"

"My Destiny and it's timing is in the hand of God." Psalms 16:5 Your way of life, your fortune, your fate, your portion comes from God. Knowing God is to know that He operates in rhythm, seasons, or times. Ecclesiastes 3 breaks down very intricately the seasons, or timing of a man's life or destiny. It tells us in vs.1 that, "Everything on earth has its own time and its own season" ( CEV ) or " Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses." ( GNT ) Being in sync rhythmically with God is so vital to the believer, operating in boundaries of our destiny or fortune, is the ability to flow in purpose. God has a purpose for each of us, you will find it to be your greatest joy as you discover the privilege of understanding the intention of God for your life. There are times as believers we find it difficult to accept what God has given us. There will be times when your ideas of what you want may get in the way of you and God...
