THE POWER OF LOVING YOUR ENEMIES

S.E.E.D. For Today____Enemies

Scripture "While we were God's enemies, He made us His friends through the death of His Son. Romans 5:10a New Century Version

A man giving up His Son for His enemies? That through Him we would be God's friend again? Who does this for an enemy? What manner of love is this not only would we become His friends but also through His Son become His children. This incredible display of loving one's enemies is at times beyond comprehension. The atonement of Christ was intended to make us one with God at one moment. This is the kind of love that the Father has given to us even as children that God Himself assumed our nature in the person of Jesus Christ and died. Maybe many would lay their life down for a friend but for an enemy never. Once we were alienated from God as enemies but the power of His love through Christ has made us friends, children of the Most High God. He Has commanded us to love our enemies as well, do good to those who hate you, bless those that curse you, and pray for those that hurt you. Martin Luther King said in a sermon on loving your enemies that "the modern man is traveling a road called hate, in a journey that will bring us to destruction and damnation." "Our responsibility as Christians is to discover the meaning of this command."

Example Enemy a person who is opposed or hostile to someone or something. Adversary, activities that are against another.

Exercise Read Romans 5:6-11 Journal and Talk to God about your struggles in loving your enemies. This who hate on you, persecute you, lie on you, gossip about you. I Peter 3:9 says "Don't repay evil for evil. Don't retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and He will bless you for it." Instead of repaying others Romans 12 tells us to focus our thoughts on what is right in the sight of all people. There is power and a blessing in loving your enemies.

Devotion Lord I thank You for this day. Another day to display my love for You. You said that my love would be seen in my obedience. In Your obedience You were murdered to make me friends with the Father again, in my obedience although it may seem like death to my pride, my ego, I must love my enemies as well. Thank You for the powerful act of loving us under the circumstances, it has given us life. I pray that one day I grow up to be more like You in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

THE SAFE PLACE

S.E.E.D. For Today___ Safety Scripture "God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble." Psalms 46:1 New Life Version In light of all that is going on in our world God is the most dependable person we know. Murder, and violence plague our city's and nothing seems to be safe anymore. When everything seems to be falling apart God is our safety, our refuge from the storms of life. He doesn't protect us in order to pamper us, He shelter's us so He can strengthen us to go back to life with it's duties and dangers. Trouble describes people who are in tight places in a corner and unable to get out, but we are not to be afraid. The earth may change and things will be in utter chaos, but in the Lord we have safety. Though everything around us and in us seems to be restless, God is in control. God is our safe place, in His will, in His hands He got the whole world, He formed it, shaped it, created it, and man co...

"Your Time Is Coming!"

"My Destiny and it's timing is in the hand of God." Psalms 16:5 Your way of life, your fortune, your fate, your portion comes from God. Knowing God is to know that He operates in rhythm, seasons, or times. Ecclesiastes 3 breaks down very intricately the seasons, or timing of a man's life or destiny. It tells us in vs.1 that, "Everything on earth has its own time and its own season" ( CEV ) or " Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses." ( GNT ) Being in sync rhythmically with God is so vital to the believer, operating in boundaries of our destiny or fortune, is the ability to flow in purpose. God has a purpose for each of us, you will find it to be your greatest joy as you discover the privilege of understanding the intention of God for your life. There are times as believers we find it difficult to accept what God has given us. There will be times when your ideas of what you want may get in the way of you and God...
