S.E.E.D. For Today_Stability
Scripture "It is life to me now, if you stand firm in the Lord." 1 Thessalonians 3:8 Moffat New Testament
Paul who definitely made the choice to give his life totally for the sake of the gospel, willingly underwent distress, persecution, prison, beaten, forsaken, the tribulation he endured to him was nothing compared to his choice to live for Christ. But he was comforted knowing that the church in Thessalonica had stability in the faith. Paul's heart is on fire for the Lord and this tender affection he has for this church is because they have kept their position. This uplifted Paul, he could not find enough words to describe the joy and the positive effect their stability in the faith was to him. It was like a shot of life, it fueled his purpose. As a pastor it encourages and strengthens your life when you see the saints persevere, standing firm in their faith no matter what. This comfort is good for all those that are leading the church. The steadfastness of people's faith brings life to those who minister the gospel.
Example The strength to stand and endure. The state or quality of something that is not easily changed or likely to change.
Exercise Read I Thessalonians Chapter 3 Journal or talk to God about your stability in the faith. Stability is a choice, the most intelligent choice we can make. By stability it is intended that the choice not be changed. The stability to Love and Obey God, without wavering, to love one another in stability, to serve in stability. Stability as opposed to instability is a choice. What do you choose?
Devotion Lord my prayer today is for stability. My appeal to You today is for strength to oppose instability, strength to get rid of fear that keeps me doubtful, I pray for wisdom and knowledge. I thank you for Your justice, righteousness and salvation. Lord I thank you that as an attribute of my benevolence unto You, I remain stable in heart, that my steadfastness will give life to the body. I pray that stability become a part of my character. Today this is my choice, my unchanging intention in Jesus Name Amen.
