MOTIVE AND CHOICE

S.E.E.D. For Today_Choices

Scripture "By faith Moses' parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king's edict." Hebrews 11:23 NIV

Choices are extremely important, what you choose indicates what type of future you have. Making choices can be difficult because of the multiple choices we get to make and the free will to decide. Choices have short and long lasting effects, which determines in many courses the turn your life will take. Most of us wrestle with ourselves after we have made many choices. Out of the best of our reasoning, our desire, our appetite do we make up our minds. Faith operates on choice, "by faith Moses' parents defied Pharaoh's order and kept their son alive. His mother trusted in the providence of God, her choice was to risk her life for the life of her child. Her choice had astounding circumstances that will always be shared with all humanity. Motive and choice was before Moses' parents they saw he was not an ordinary child, this was the intention for why they hid him to save his life.

Example Motive and choice is a rational election process. It is rational in the sense that it is for a reason mentally apprehended and approved. The reason so apprehended and approved is the true motive of the choice. There can be no choice without such a motive.

Exercise Read Hebrews 11:23 and Exodus 2:1-10 Journal and talk to God about the motive of the many choices that you have made or maybe you need to make some choices as you read this seed today. You might ask yourself why have I made some of the choices that I have made, what was my motive behind them? What is the reason I mentally apprehend and approve the choices in my life?

Devotion Lord I thank You for life and the free will You have given me. Search my heart today Lord and expose to me the reasons that I apprehend and approve my choices. What is my motive to why I choose what I choose. Help me to reason out the various options I have to choose from, let it not be just because of my appetite or uncontrolled desires. I pray that my motive and choice reflect purpose and the course You have set for my life in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

A MATTER OF HUMAN DIGNITY

S.E.E.D. For Today__ Humanity Scripture "So God created human beings in His image. In the image of God He created them. Genesis  1:27 NLT In light of everything that we are facing in our society today, police brutality and the horrific and senseless crimes that we commit against one another mankind must remember that we are destroying God's masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10 tells us;  "For we are God's masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago." This was never God's plan He knew that after Adam sinned that all mankind would no longer have His nature so He sent His Son into the world that we would again be like Him. He knows the heart of men, and His message to us is to love one another as you love yourself. Love and hate are at war, this is not about race, this is a matter of human dignity. Example Humanity is the human race the action of humanity is humanness, benevolence, compassi...
