SLIDE SOME OIL TO ME



















S.E.E.D. For Today__Unity and Love

 Scripture "How wonderful, how beautiful, when brothers and sisters get along! It's like costly anointing oil flowing down from head and beard," Psalms 133:1-2 Message Bible

 When we read the scriptures you cannot help but see that throughout biblical history brothers or the brethren did not always live in unity and love. It first started with Cain killing Abel, Lot and Abraham's arguments, Joseph's brothers hating him, Miriam and Aaron criticizing Moses, and David's children turning against him and each other, even the disciples argued over who would be the greatest in God's Kingdom, and the sad thing is that rivalry and division still rears it's ugly head in our families and the church today. Those who have been born of God all belong to the same family and need to live in unity and love. The Psalm writer said how pleasant or how wonderful and how attractive it is when we all get along. It's costly like the anointing oil, it's purchased at a high price but we have been commanded to do so. When the high priest were anointed, the oil ran down his beard to the front of his body and collar. This suggest that the oil bathed the twelve precious stones that he wore on the breastplate over his heart, and this bathing is a picture of spiritual unity. When we walk in the Spirit we forget about the external and major on the eternal things of God. The externals divide us, while the oil bathes our hearts that we walk in unity and love together that Christ be glorified.

Example Unity and love affection for one another. Oneness in fellowship.

Exercise Read Psalms 133:1-3; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 Journal and talk to God about walking in unity and love. Do you exhibit this quality in your home, job, and church? In the movie the Wiz, the tin man needed the oil to keep him from getting hard and rusting for he lost his heart. Some of our hearts are hard they have rusted because of bad relationships we have hardened our hearts toward one another. Ask the Holy Spirit to slide some oil to you, allow it to lubricate your mind, let Him bathe you in it that you can walk in true unity and love.

Devotion Lord I thank you for today! I pray that I will give up being a part of any envy, strife, gossip, jealousies, anything that will hinder me from walking in unity and love. Pour the oil, that I not remain in this position, I will praise you instead of getting angry, and I will love instead of hate. Disunity in the world is the very ugly ruler taking over  how men live in this life, but those of us who trust in you must seek peace by living in unity and love in Jesus Name Amen.

    Dear Lord I come asking that you help me in those areas where I have harden my heart please pass me sum oil that I may soften & walk in love. Help me to not look @ the hurt but to keep my eyes on you for you are with me. I ask that you guide me in a way that I'm not offensive to others & that I can still work in unity with those who have hurt, lied and or talked about me. I know you have shifted the winds & is blowing away all those things that can't go where your takin me & I thank you in advance for what you have planned for my life in Jesus NAME AMEN!!!!

    Lord please slide some oil on me God give me your open heart God break down these walls that I have built up around me Lord show me how to be affectionate and caring and loving teach me how to show my love to other people let me not shrink back my emotions Lord I need your oil each and every day God I thank you and I praise you in Jesus name amen

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. Genesis  1:27 NLT In light of everything that we are facing in our society today, police brutality and the horrific and senseless crimes that we commit against one another mankind must remember that we are destroying God's masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10 tells us;  "For we are God's masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago." This was never God's plan He knew that after Adam sinned that all mankind would no longer have His nature so He sent His Son into the world that we would again be like Him.
