S.E.E.D. For Today____Holiness

 Scripture "And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God." 2 Corinthians 7:1b NLT

 When you think about the believer today or the church, what is our view on the importance of holiness? The generation coming ahead will they even know what holiness is all about? Why is the chief attribute of God no longer the strongest part of our Christian education? It seems so strange to think that we have separated ourselves from this important nature of the Father to have engrafted a form of His holiness to become inclusive. Theologically it is true that when we are saved we are instantaneously justified and sanctified but we must fulfill our calling by progressive sanctification. The word of God exhorts us to cut off our unholy alliances (including our thoughts, desires, affections, anger, pride and more....) and cleanse ourselves that we live in the fulfillment of God and possess the promise.

 Example Holiness the chief attribute of God and a quality to be developed in His people. The primary and fundamental meaning is to cut or to separate. Men and Women of God are called to cultivate the holiness of God's own character in their lives.

Exercise Read 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1 Journal and Talk to God. The call to holiness is a life of  consistent cleaning. We are to constantly purify ourselves daily as a way of making progress for sanctification is continuous because our human nature is prone to sin. Strive for holiness, be Holy for God is Holy, pursue it because you fear or reverence Him.

Devotion Lord I thank you for this day! Remove all fear, pride, and stubbornness of letting go of the things that defile this temple and that I work toward the completion of holiness in my life. Everyday it is a daily struggle but I must cleanse for righteousness sake. I pray that I stop adding You to my life without the result of change. I pray that I will never hold to a form of godliness but that the power of your holiness will transform me from the inside out. I pray that my belief and my behaviors match who I am in You. In reverence to who You are I work toward holiness in Jesus Name Amen.

    Dear Lord please help me continue to do my best to walk in holiness cause this walk is not easy. Give me the boldness & strength to accept that if this what you called for that I can with your help fulfill my assignment & purpose for my life even if I end up by myself n this walk but knowing that your there with me. Help my mind as you transforms it to a mind of holiness that I will always think in the way that will bring you glory. Lord I really need your help to walk in & out this thing called HOLINESS in JESUS name AMEN!!! Thank you Pastor for planting this seed today may GOD water it & keep His eyes on it!!!!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. S.E.E.D. For Today__ Humanity Scripture "So God created human beings in His image. In the image of God He created them. Genesis  1:27 NLT In light of everything that we are facing in our society today, police brutality and the horrific and senseless crimes that we commit against one another mankind must remember that we are destroying God's masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10 tells us;  "For we are God's masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago." This was never God's plan He knew that after Adam sinned that all mankind would no longer have His nature so He sent His Son into the world that we would again be like Him.
