The Struggle

S.E.E.D. For Today_Struggle

Scripture "They went to the olive grove called Gethsemane, and Jesus said, Sit here while I go and pray." He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He became deeply troubled and distressed. He told them, "My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me." Mark 14:32-34 NLT

In the night before the Romans arrested Him, He went to the garden of Gethsemane, taking three of His friends. Jesus takes them for He needs them to be present before Him in the time of crisis. In the garden Jesus is overtaken with an intense spiritual affliction. He is so overwhelmed that He prays that the ordeal be avoided. He ask God to spare Him of this suffering, He was depressed and filled with grief. The fear of being separated from the Father became the struggle. Luke tells of the bloody sweat to describe the intensity of the crucial moment for the Lord. The battle Jesus fights in this moment He must fight alone, He alone must lay down His life, become a curse and give Himself as a ransom.

Example To wrestle, to fight, to proceed with great difficulty or effort.

Exercise  Read Mark 14:32-36 see in the scripture the struggle Jesus suffered in His humanity. He was depressed because of the grief and distress He was about to experience, He fell to the earth and prayed to the Father in agony. Jesus pleads to God but His request not granted, He was rejected through God's silence. How do we handle the struggle when it seems as though God has rejected us? In our grief, trouble and distress, when we are crushed, when the struggle of the fear of pain seems endless can we continue to submit to the will of God. Journal your struggles, compare them to what Christ suffered on your behalf.

Devotion Lord I pray today for strength to endure the journey. The struggle is real but your power is greater. I pray that in the midst of conflict Your Will be done. I pray for the grace when I'm distressed, troubled and overwhelmed. In Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you

THE SAFE PLACE

S.E.E.D. For Today___ Safety Scripture "God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble." Psalms 46:1 New Life Version In light of all that is going on in our world God is the most dependable person we know. Murder, and violence plague our city's and nothing seems to be safe anymore. When everything seems to be falling apart God is our safety, our refuge from the storms of life. He doesn't protect us in order to pamper us, He shelter's us so He can strengthen us to go back to life with it's duties and dangers. Trouble describes people who are in tight places in a corner and unable to get out, but we are not to be afraid. The earth may change and things will be in utter chaos, but in the Lord we have safety. Though everything around us and in us seems to be restless, God is in control. God is our safe place, in His will, in His hands He got the whole world, He formed it, shaped it, created it, and man co

"Your Time Is Coming!"

"My Destiny and it's timing is in the hand of God." Psalms 16:5 Your way of life, your fortune, your fate, your portion comes from God. Knowing God is to know that He operates in rhythm, seasons, or times. Ecclesiastes 3 breaks down very intricately the seasons, or timing of a man's life or destiny. It tells us in vs.1 that, "Everything on earth has its own time and its own season" ( CEV ) or " Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses." ( GNT ) Being in sync rhythmically with God is so vital to the believer, operating in boundaries of our destiny or fortune, is the ability to flow in purpose. God has a purpose for each of us, you will find it to be your greatest joy as you discover the privilege of understanding the intention of God for your life. There are times as believers we find it difficult to accept what God has given us. There will be times when your ideas of what you want may get in the way of you and God
