For Today Scripture: "Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast as you really are."For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed."  I Corinthians 5:7 Explanation: This is implying in reference to the remnant of the old heathenish and natural corruption of sin. The metaphor is taken from the extreme care of the Jews in searching every corner of their houses, and purging out every particle of yeast from the time of killing the lamb before Passover.  Exhortation: As Christians we are to continually search and purge our hearts before the Lord. "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me and I shall be whiter than snow." Psalms 51:7 We are free from the leaven or yeast of sin and death, know who you really are, Christ has already been sacrificed as our passover lamb removing the old yeast which should have been purged out long ago.
