A New Batch

S.E.E.D. For Today

Scripture: "Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast as you really are."For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed." I Corinthians 5:7

Explanation: This is implying in reference to the remnant of the old heathenish and natural corruption of sin. The metaphor is taken from the extreme care of the Jews in searching every corner of their houses, and purging out every particle of yeast from the time of killing the lamb before Passover.

Exhortation: As Christians we are to continually search and purge our hearts before the Lord. "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me and I shall be whiter than snow." Psalms 51:7 We are free from the leaven or yeast of sin and death, know who you really are, Christ has already been sacrificed as our passover lamb removing the old yeast which should have been purged out long ago.

Devotion: In Matthew 16:6 Jesus gives a stern warning, "Be careful, be on guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees." Alarming His disciples to be cautious of the evil influence and hypocrisy of these Spiritual leaders. Ask God as you pray today to help you with the spiritual leavening in your life. The remnant of the old yeast, the impurity and corruption that tries to remain. Pray for cleansing that you may be a new batch, search every corner of your life, crying out purging every particle of old yeast, putting off the old self in Jesus Name Amen!

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
