Don't Get Sidetracked

S.E.E.D. For Today_Sidetracked

Scripture "Don't get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil." Proverbs 4:27 NLT

It is not only what we say that shows the state of the heart but what we follow, our feet have actions that reveal the condition of our souls. Forgetting the things behind us pressing forward to the prize of the calling of God we must keep our eyes fixed, our focus remain on point. Our earnest concern should be about the path we take. Be mindful that we are not to do what the wicked do nor follow the path of evildoers, don't even think about it, don't go that way. It's ok to be misjudged and misunderstood by spiritual and unspiritual people who are ignorant of the power of God and the value of His truth. Don't get sidetracked, look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what lies before you.

Example Cause someone to be distracted from an immediate or important issue. To divert or put off.

Exercise Read Proverbs 4th chapter We must be careful to remain on the path chosen for us not turning to the left or to the right. So many believers who have been sidetracked experience many troubles. It has opened a door of confusion, doubt, frustration, and restlessness. Many don't know which way to go. They have been distracted and diverted. But the Proverb says to mark out a straight path for your feet and stay on the safe path. What is the mark? It is the Kingdom of God, we are commanded to seek it. Who is the Path? It is Jesus, (Jesus is not only a person but He is a road) that is the path for our feet so follow Him.  Today think about where you got sidetracked and get back on track.

Devotion Lord I pray that I listen carefully to what you say, that I take hold of your instructions and never let them go. Your words bring life and healing to the whole body. Teach me your wisdom and lead me in straight paths. I admit that I need your help in everything that I do today in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
