REALLY?

S.E.E.D. For Today Contempt

Scripture "How long will these people treat me with contempt?  "How long must I put up with this wicked community and its complaints about Me?" Numbers 14:11b; v.27:a New Living Translation

In this chapter of Numbers the children of Israel after receiving the report of the spies on what to expect in Canaan (the promised land) rebel against Moses, Aaron and God. As a result of the report they start babbling immensely, how they should have died in Egypt, how terrible God is, He cares nothing about them or their families, how much better they were in Egypt and their attempt to go back. They went completely to the left. Moses and Aaron begins to pray again as Joshua and Caleb explains to them it's wonderful don't rebel trust God He is with us. In return they wanted to stone Joshua and Caleb. Then the presence of the Lord appears to all the Israelites at the Tabernacle, (in my own words) says to Moses REALLY? How long do you expect Me to put up with this disrespect from these people. Will they ever believe me or will they always complain to me about everything? Moses intercedes again and ask the Lord if you don't keep Your Word what will the Egyptians think when they hear about it? God pardons them as Moses requested for His own Glory He did not consume them, instead He made a promise that none of those who treated Him with contempt would ever see the promise land.

Example A strong feeling of disliking and having no respect for someone or something. Behavior that is illegal because it does not obey or respect the rules of a court of law. Be in contempt of court. As believers we are summoned to enter God's court with praise and thanksgiving.

Exercise Read Numbers 14:1-44 Unbelievable how bold, arrogant and disobedient these people were, they're off the chain just like us! Have you been more mindful of your murmuring and complaining on this week? Talk it out with yourself or journal your downfall. What is your attitude like, can you live with the way God does things? Continue your self-evaluation.

Devotion Lord my prayer for today is to relinquish my will to accept your Will without complaining. Help me not to complain about Your instructions for my life. Help me get rid of my I know better for me attitude. Help me to be silent and not reason with you. You are Sovereign, help my understanding.   In Jesus Name Amen

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
