Turning Point

S.E.E.D. For Today_Turning Point

Scripture "Abraham entered into what God was doing for him, and that was the turning point. He trusted God to set him right instead of trying to be right on his own." Romans 4:3 MSG

Abraham had a choice to make. His decision was between setting out with with his family and belongings for what was unknown to him or stay right where he was. He had to decide between the security of what he already had and the uncertainty of moving under God's direction. All he had to go on was God's promise to guide and bless him. Abraham could hardly have been expected to visualize how much of the future was banking on his decision of whether to go or stay, but his obedience affected the history of the world. Abraham's decision to enter into what God was doing for him was the turning point that established the fulfillment of God's promised and the world was blessed. By faith he believed God, he had kept no law, rendered no service and performed no ritual, but his decision to step out to go where God was taking him to believe the promises of God was credited to him as righteousness.

Example A point at which there is a change in motion or direction, or a time when a decisive change in a situation occurs especially one with beneficial results.

Exercise Use the msg bible translation read Romans 4:1-17 and Genesis 15:6. There comes a turning point in everyone's life. Have you stayed in the same place too long, out of fear, afraid to take the risk? Faith is taking a risk and it's time to move on and turn north and get to the promise land, you have no idea of the great future that God has planned for you. Go! God wants to use you to be blessing to the world.

Devotion Lord I pray for the faith to be willing to take chances that others will never take, help me not to play it safe or remain complacent. It's time to move on. Lord I pray for a panglossian attitude being extremely optimistic in the face of hardship or adversity. Help me make the necessary adjustments and refocus on your Will. I know there will not be clarity for everything but I trust you no matter what.

P.S. Don't ever think that what you do in obedience to God in the midst of your setbacks is insignificant. PDRAY

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
