THE GRUMBLING EFFECT

S.E.E.D. For Today_Consequences of Complaining

Scripture "The people began complaining out loud to the Lord about their troubles. When the Lord heard them, He became angry, and fire from the Lord began to burn among them. It destroyed some people on the outskirts of the camp." Numbers 11:1 Good News Translation

In the first scene of this chapter we see the consequences of complaining. The people grumbled against the Lord because of everything they were going through. God had never failed them He remained faithful in their faithlessness, disloyalty and disobedience towards Him. He led them out of Egypt parted the Red Sea for their exit and then destroyed their enemies. He was with them every step of the way providing what they needed, the manna that He supplied. In the second scene verse 4 we see the grumbling effect continued with the rabble (the riffraff) the mixed multitude that left Egypt with the Israelites, ("then the foreign rabble or riffraff who were traveling with the Israelites began to crave the good things of Egypt. And the people of Israel also began to complain.) There grumbling infected the rest of the Israelites. Grumbling is a sin that has potentially serious consequences. But we also see the remedy for grumbling and complaining is intercessory prayer. As the fire raged the people screamed for help, Moses prayed to the Lord and the fire stopped. The grumbling effect continued because though the fire ceased and no one was destroyed inside the camp, outside of the camp some people were destroyed. Caution; complaining is contagious be careful of the fire your grumbling starts, it may just burn someone you love.

Example Protest about something in a bad-tempered but typically muted way. To mutter in discontent. Talk in an unhappy way.

Exercise Read Numbers the 11th chapter in it's entirety using the Good News Translation. Underline in your bible or write in your journal the areas you see yourself. I saw my complaints and arguments with God in relation to leading His people. You will see yours, it's like a mirror.

Devotion Lord I pray against all the grumbling and complaining that I do. I repent in Jesus name for any fire that raged because of it and those effected by my grumbling. I pray today that I will be content in whatever state I'm in, trusting you through everything. Your grace is sufficient for me, forgive me I pray. Amen

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you

THE SAFE PLACE

S.E.E.D. For Today___ Safety Scripture "God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble." Psalms 46:1 New Life Version In light of all that is going on in our world God is the most dependable person we know. Murder, and violence plague our city's and nothing seems to be safe anymore. When everything seems to be falling apart God is our safety, our refuge from the storms of life. He doesn't protect us in order to pamper us, He shelter's us so He can strengthen us to go back to life with it's duties and dangers. Trouble describes people who are in tight places in a corner and unable to get out, but we are not to be afraid. The earth may change and things will be in utter chaos, but in the Lord we have safety. Though everything around us and in us seems to be restless, God is in control. God is our safe place, in His will, in His hands He got the whole world, He formed it, shaped it, created it, and man co

"Your Time Is Coming!"

"My Destiny and it's timing is in the hand of God." Psalms 16:5 Your way of life, your fortune, your fate, your portion comes from God. Knowing God is to know that He operates in rhythm, seasons, or times. Ecclesiastes 3 breaks down very intricately the seasons, or timing of a man's life or destiny. It tells us in vs.1 that, "Everything on earth has its own time and its own season" ( CEV ) or " Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses." ( GNT ) Being in sync rhythmically with God is so vital to the believer, operating in boundaries of our destiny or fortune, is the ability to flow in purpose. God has a purpose for each of us, you will find it to be your greatest joy as you discover the privilege of understanding the intention of God for your life. There are times as believers we find it difficult to accept what God has given us. There will be times when your ideas of what you want may get in the way of you and God
