The Passion For Prayer

S.E.E.D. For Today_Prayer

Scripture "Then Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices. He said to them, "The scriptures declare, "My Temple will be a house of prayer,' but you have turned it into a den of thieves." Luke 19:45-46 NLT

After Jesus enters The temple area, He overturns the tables of the money changers, saying; "It is written, "My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers. He calls the Temple His house, he regarded it as His. The idea of the Temple being a house of prayer seemed not to have entered anybody's mind. The Temple had lost its meaning. Jesus showed the importance of prayer.  There should be individual and corporate prayer, intercessory prayer ("Peter was in prison but the church was earnestly praying to God for him." Acts 12:5), standing in the gap in prayer as Moses had many times for Israel. The design of the Temple and the sacred items in it showed the Temple was erected around prayer. The blood sacrifice of the altar, the basin for clean consciences to pray, the table to fellowship with the Lord, the lampstand to illuminate and the altar of incense, it smell passed through the curtain. The problem was not the sacrificial material made available it was how it was done.

Example Having a conversation with God or intercourse of the soul with God. Prayer is preaching to ourselves in God's hearing, for our instruction and improvement.

Exercise Prayer is an audience with God, we have lost the meaning of the House of Prayer. Read Luke 19:45-48 What is your prayer life like. Do you come out to prayer service? We need a passion for prayer. Can you give your life in prayer?

Devotion Lord produce the desire in us to Pray! Prayer is a privilege and a duty, that we offer the fruit of our lips unto You. I pray that we draw near the Throne of Grace with the right understanding of God's majesty with a holy confidence in God's goodness. Peter says "we must strive in prayer that we obtain the right views of God and (grasp) deeper knowledge that we worship Him right."1Peter 3:15 Lord we cry out and confess our failures, our tendencies to serve sin and our own interest, burying self. I pray that we use everything divinely appointed to promote the Kingdom of God in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
