SEEKERS

S.E.E.D. For Today___Pray

Scripture "Then if my people which are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT

God is faithful to His intent for an authentic relationship with His people. His intent is that we will seek Him and not another. Just as Israel we are always in the midst of needing God as our hope. God offers fallen Israel hope in the middle of their drought, crop devastation, or plague because of their constant rebellion against God. God's acts of mercy and grace are in such a way that it intends to turn the hearts of His people to Himself. If necessary He will shut down all means of support because He yearns for a relationship with us that is reciprocated. God is seeking out seekers those who truly want and need Him, the Chronicles describe the true seeker, 1) They must humble themselves. 2) Pray 3) They must seek God's face 4) Give up their wicked ways. In return He will hear us from heaven, forgive and restore as only He can.

Example Pray to address God with adoration, confession, supplication, or thanksgiving, to intercede. Conversation with God in praise. Properly exchange words with God.

Exercise Read 2 Chronicles 7:1-16 Journal and Talk to God. God is seeking seekers. When was the last time you went to the temple or the house of God and prayed. In 2 Chronicles 7 when Solomon finish praying the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple. When was the last time  the presence of God truly filled your temple?

Devotion Lord my prayer for today is to seek you. Assist me Holy Spirit in my conversations with God. I pray for the humility to stay on my knees seeking God's face, I pray for the heart of mindful repentance unto God that my sins not be my leader, but I will remain in remission and with the restoration provided through seeking Your face. You are good and Your love endures forever of which I am a recipient of in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
