RAIN OR SHINE

S.E.E.D. For Today___Rain or Shine

Scripture "He causes His sun to shine on good and on evil people, and He sends rain to those who do right and to those who do wrong." Matthew 5:45 New Century Version

In this Jesus is commanding a love without limits, that loves everyone regardless of their circumstance. Especially in the culture that we live in today everyone and everything is judged before they are loved. The bible tells us in John 3:16 that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son to die for them. When He could have judged us He loved us in our sinful state. If we practiced this type of love we could change our communities forever. Jesus ordered us to love like this, for two reasons, one because it is what makes us like God, when the sun rises it shines on both the righteous and the unrighteous and it rains on both as well, God is not partial in His love and provision towards any of us. The second reason is that this love distinguishes us from the world. In the Unbuntu theology there is I thou vs I it the I thou is when I bow to love to serve unconditionally, the I it is when I analyze you before I love or serve you. We want the I Thou to shine upon all mankind. Loving those who love you is not authentic humanity.

Example Rain or Shine regardless of the weather, regardless of the circumstance. They do it regularly nothing effects what they do or how they treat you.

Exercise Read Matthew 5:43-48 Journal and Talk to God. Reflect this weekend over all the suffering we see going on around us. We often wonder does God love those who persecute, ridicule, display hate...etc and He does, regardless whether good or bad God loves us all. We are commanded to love like Him.

Devotion Lord I pray for and understanding of Your impartiality. I am grateful to have been a recipient of the sun and rain, that Your love for me was without limits. I pray that I can practice this type of love in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
