TREASURE IN HEAVEN

S.E.E.D. For Today___Relinquish

Scripture "Sell everything you have and give it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me." Luke 18:22b NCV

Luke describes for us the heart of what it means to truly receive God's Kingdom. This rich ruler so confident in his religious practices boldly steps to Jesus hoping he would impress the Lord with his piety and devotion of the law and his good moral habits unlike other sinners. What the ruler failed to see in the story is that Jesus was seeking for those who would relinquish, abandon all that they held of any value in exchange of the new. In order to receive this new message of the Kingdom of God he had to relinquish the symbols of the old. For many of us we believe that we are good that morally we follow Jesus but there are things in our hearts that we have not relinquished to God. We find that out when crisis occurs what comes first in our lives. It is impossible for us as believers to hold on to what God wants us to let go, we have this treasure available to us in Heaven that is everlasting but many of us are stuck. The possessions we have and the material success we deem to acquire. In order for you to be free, you must free your heart of all that you hold dear to your former life, everything you possessed as a means to comfort. Spiritually you will never be whole and complete until you relinquish all externally and internally and follow Him. What do you treasure more than obeying Christ?

Example Relinquish is to voluntarily cease to keep or give up. To renounce or surrender, put aside, yield, concede, let go, no longer claim.

Exercise Read Luke 18:18-25 Journal and Talk to God

Devotion Lord my prayer today is that I voluntarily surrender my all to You. Put aside everything that hinders my relationship with You. I let go of every claim of my free will in acknowledgement of Your Will. I give up everything You want of me. I know that if I lose my life I will have life so I relinquish all that I have, all that I am, because all of me wants all of You. I love You Father, I love You Lord and I love the Holy Spirit in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

THE SAFE PLACE

S.E.E.D. For Today___ Safety Scripture "God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble." Psalms 46:1 New Life Version In light of all that is going on in our world God is the most dependable person we know. Murder, and violence plague our city's and nothing seems to be safe anymore. When everything seems to be falling apart God is our safety, our refuge from the storms of life. He doesn't protect us in order to pamper us, He shelter's us so He can strengthen us to go back to life with it's duties and dangers. Trouble describes people who are in tight places in a corner and unable to get out, but we are not to be afraid. The earth may change and things will be in utter chaos, but in the Lord we have safety. Though everything around us and in us seems to be restless, God is in control. God is our safe place, in His will, in His hands He got the whole world, He formed it, shaped it, created it, and man co...

"Your Time Is Coming!"

"My Destiny and it's timing is in the hand of God." Psalms 16:5 Your way of life, your fortune, your fate, your portion comes from God. Knowing God is to know that He operates in rhythm, seasons, or times. Ecclesiastes 3 breaks down very intricately the seasons, or timing of a man's life or destiny. It tells us in vs.1 that, "Everything on earth has its own time and its own season" ( CEV ) or " Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses." ( GNT ) Being in sync rhythmically with God is so vital to the believer, operating in boundaries of our destiny or fortune, is the ability to flow in purpose. God has a purpose for each of us, you will find it to be your greatest joy as you discover the privilege of understanding the intention of God for your life. There are times as believers we find it difficult to accept what God has given us. There will be times when your ideas of what you want may get in the way of you and God...
