S.E.E.D. For Today_____Together

 Scripture "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone the he falls and has not another to lift him up!" Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 ESV

 This week history was made, the United States of America has it's first female presidential nominee. But that's the exciting news, on the downside there are the spiraling levels of hate and discord that has occurred on both sides of the parties that serve to run this oh not so perfect union of this nation. It has drawn this ugly portion into the masterpiece of our country. Solomon's experience with the independent man caused him to consider the importance of friendship and value of people doing things together. There is a jewish proverb that says a friendless man is like a left hand bereft of the right. Two is definitely better than one, if this nation united we could get so much done. If the left wing and the right could come together oh how this nation would soar for the betterment of all humanity. In the body of Christ it's the same we are divided by parties which are called denominations or ideals, or in how we fellowship, but in Christ there should be no separatism, one Faith, one Lord, church we are stronger together. As believers we should always think in terms of unity, we are called to present a beautiful picture of what loving one another looks like.

 Example Together is to be in union, relationship, to agree to disagree but still maintain a wholeness, conjointly, stable and well organized. Harmony, simultaneously, to assist, to put power together. For everyone to work in labor together, to partner. Cooperate with one another.

Exercise Read Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Journal and Talk to God. Today how many of you can be apart of spreading unity?  The DNC talked about being change makers. I challenge you.

Devotion Lord I thank You for this day. Once again eight years later we have lived through another major historical moment in the world. Lord I want to be a change maker for I know that we are stronger together. In the Garden You said it was not good for the man to be alone and You created for him a help mate. You are a God of community, relationship, and help me be more like You. I pray to display love in every way how I talk to others, how I react to others and how I see others, for in every human I must see You. I pray that we all understand that we are Your image, we are Your brand and united we stand but divided we fall in Jesus Name Amen.

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

A MATTER OF HUMAN DIGNITY

S.E.E.D. For Today__ Humanity Scripture "So God created human beings in His image. In the image of God He created them. Genesis  1:27 NLT In light of everything that we are facing in our society today, police brutality and the horrific and senseless crimes that we commit against one another mankind must remember that we are destroying God's masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10 tells us;  "For we are God's masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago." This was never God's plan He knew that after Adam sinned that all mankind would no longer have His nature so He sent His Son into the world that we would again be like Him. He knows the heart of men, and His message to us is to love one another as you love yourself. Love and hate are at war, this is not about race, this is a matter of human dignity.
