Terrible Times

S.E.E.D. For Today_Terrible Times

Scripture "In the last days there will be many troubles, because people will love themselves, love money, brag and be proud." II Timothy 3:1-2 NCV

The Apostle Paul describes the times will be so grievous because of the people that live in them. He describes that the world is full of vicious people and the church is surrounded by them and invaded by them as well, people who love themselves and money more than they love God, selfish, lustful and enslaved by their desires and the continual gathering of money and possessions. Selfish people are typically boastful and prideful. Pride can lead to abusive speech and behavior. In order for pride and arrogance to survive, it must view others as lesser individuals, as unworthy or unfit. We don't want pride to continue it's reign in us , it can dehumanize, and strip away all respect toward others. The fallen world is the source of this boastful pride and God stands in opposition to it. "God opposes the proud." (James 4:6) The moral deterioration in our society is led by the spirit of pride. Everyone is represented by pride, it's everywhere, the pride of life, black pride, white pride, gay pride...etc it goes on. These are terrible times because of the godlessness that exist in our society and has crept into the church. Prideful, ungrateful, unloving, unforgiving, slanderous and without self-control, conceited, lovers of pleasure and not lovers of God. This is the result of a prideful society. It's costly, it's dangerous, and it denies God. Satan led a revolt against God because of his pride. He is the father of pride.

Example Terrible times relates to an evil or unhappy state, failing to reach an acceptable standard, unfavorable times, a very serious or unpleasant situation, extreme and difficult.

Exercise Read 2 Timothy 3:1-9 All week the seed has been a mirror that we get a good reflection of the pride in us, so we end this week not only with the view of the pride in us but also in the culture in which we live. We expect this behavior from the world but the church should not suffer of this but it does. Many believers are cold and heartless, treacherous amongst each other, unappeasable, having an appearance of godliness, but denying it's power. Where is the humility, where is the love? Love is not prideful, or boastful. How do we love God and treat each other so ruthlessly? I pray you repent for your prideful behavior.

Devotion Lord I pray for the moral deterioration of our culture. The wrath of God will come against all godlessness and the pridefulness of men who suppress the truth by this type of wickedness. I repent of all the vicious qualities that exist in my life because of pride. I pray for humility, the nature of Christ, I pray for the fruit of the Holy Spirit, love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

THE SAFE PLACE

S.E.E.D. For Today___ Safety Scripture "God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble." Psalms 46:1 New Life Version In light of all that is going on in our world God is the most dependable person we know. Murder, and violence plague our city's and nothing seems to be safe anymore. When everything seems to be falling apart God is our safety, our refuge from the storms of life. He doesn't protect us in order to pamper us, He shelter's us so He can strengthen us to go back to life with it's duties and dangers. Trouble describes people who are in tight places in a corner and unable to get out, but we are not to be afraid. The earth may change and things will be in utter chaos, but in the Lord we have safety. Though everything around us and in us seems to be restless, God is in control. God is our safe place, in His will, in His hands He got the whole world, He formed it, shaped it, created it, and man co...

"Your Time Is Coming!"

"My Destiny and it's timing is in the hand of God." Psalms 16:5 Your way of life, your fortune, your fate, your portion comes from God. Knowing God is to know that He operates in rhythm, seasons, or times. Ecclesiastes 3 breaks down very intricately the seasons, or timing of a man's life or destiny. It tells us in vs.1 that, "Everything on earth has its own time and its own season" ( CEV ) or " Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses." ( GNT ) Being in sync rhythmically with God is so vital to the believer, operating in boundaries of our destiny or fortune, is the ability to flow in purpose. God has a purpose for each of us, you will find it to be your greatest joy as you discover the privilege of understanding the intention of God for your life. There are times as believers we find it difficult to accept what God has given us. There will be times when your ideas of what you want may get in the way of you and God...
