Risk Tolerance

S.E.E.D. For Today_Invest (Risk Tolerance)

Scripture "Invest what you have, because after a while you will get a return. Those who wait for perfect weather will never plant seeds;" Ecclesiastes 11:1&4 New Century Version Bible

Solomon used two activities to illustrate his point. The merchant sending out his ships and the farmer sowing his seed. In both activities a great deal of faith is required. Solomon as we know was extremely wealthy, he involved himself in various kinds of trade which were always done with risk in mind. He talks about the merchant and the farmer who can never be certain of the investment because you cannot control circumstances. We are ignorant of the future but we must not allow that ignorance to make us so fearful that we become careless or paralyzed to take a chance.  You must not wait until circumstances are ideal, then you will never do anything. Life has a certain amount of risk to it and that is where faith comes in. If you look for an excuse to do nothing you will find one. Redeem the time given you invest, sow live by faith and expect the unexpected. God will give you risk tolerance so that you will succeed even when your investment gets volatile.

Example Risk tolerance is an investors ability to psychologically endure the possible losses.

Exercise Read Ecclesiastes 11:1-6 Most of us choose to be moderate investors, while others choose to wait for the right  time which is never. God is challenging us to become a volatile investor, (high risk). The woman who baked her and her child's last meal and gave it to the man of God made a volatile investment in I Kings 17:2 they were going to eat and die. Elijah told her don't be afraid invest your last, give it to me, she took the risk and received a great return. Invest what you have take the risk, obey the Promises of God, you won't go wrong, God will give you risk tolerance the ability to psychologically endure possible losses, continue to invest your life, your resources into the Kingdom of God you won't regret it.

Devotion Lord I know that faith is taking a risk. I pray for risk tolerance on today that I trust you with my last. Help me to believe even when my investment undergoes volatile seasons that I not pull out. Help me not to wait for perfect weather (the right time) but do what you say now. Lord help me understand that I must invest everything in me, my time, my money, my dreams into advancing the Kingdom of God. I pray against the spirit of fear and carelessness, help me be a bold and wise investor in Jesus Name Amen.

Comments

  1. All I can say is Wow. I toiled with this notion yesterday as i began to create something that did not turn out as expected. I am diversifying my investment and I always wonder, am I doing the will of God, but this seed spoke and soldified what I felt in my spirit. In the morning i plant the seed of God and invest in my spirtiual life, while at night i create Somtayva Natural. Am I fearful of not succeeding at either one, yes I really am. But like Solomon i must not be idle as it leads me into frustration. I was a moderate investor, today I declare I am a high risk investor for the Kingdom.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

THE SAFE PLACE

S.E.E.D. For Today___ Safety Scripture "God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble." Psalms 46:1 New Life Version In light of all that is going on in our world God is the most dependable person we know. Murder, and violence plague our city's and nothing seems to be safe anymore. When everything seems to be falling apart God is our safety, our refuge from the storms of life. He doesn't protect us in order to pamper us, He shelter's us so He can strengthen us to go back to life with it's duties and dangers. Trouble describes people who are in tight places in a corner and unable to get out, but we are not to be afraid. The earth may change and things will be in utter chaos, but in the Lord we have safety. Though everything around us and in us seems to be restless, God is in control. God is our safe place, in His will, in His hands He got the whole world, He formed it, shaped it, created it, and man co...

"Your Time Is Coming!"

"My Destiny and it's timing is in the hand of God." Psalms 16:5 Your way of life, your fortune, your fate, your portion comes from God. Knowing God is to know that He operates in rhythm, seasons, or times. Ecclesiastes 3 breaks down very intricately the seasons, or timing of a man's life or destiny. It tells us in vs.1 that, "Everything on earth has its own time and its own season" ( CEV ) or " Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses." ( GNT ) Being in sync rhythmically with God is so vital to the believer, operating in boundaries of our destiny or fortune, is the ability to flow in purpose. God has a purpose for each of us, you will find it to be your greatest joy as you discover the privilege of understanding the intention of God for your life. There are times as believers we find it difficult to accept what God has given us. There will be times when your ideas of what you want may get in the way of you and God...
