THE DECEIVER

S.E.E.D. For Today_The Deceiver

Scripture "Then the Lord God asked the woman, What have you done? "The snake deceived me, and I ate, the woman answered." Genesis 3:13 Good News Translation

God doesn't ask questions because He needs information. Being God He knows everything. He ask questions for our own good, to give us the opportunity to face the facts. When God calls out for Adam it was an act of grace not that He couldn't find him, but He wanted Adam to hear His voice for his inner nature had been polluted by sin in such a way that He didn't want to face God. God calls out to His wife to question her she tells God that the serpent deceived her. From this they quickly learned how to make excuses. Paul said this "But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ." 2 Cor. 11:3 Satan is a deceiver his intentions are to still, kill and destroy, mislead you to your misfortune. In the original movie of the Jungle Book "Kaa" who is the serpent wants to eat Mowgli the young boy who wanders from his tribe into the jungle and tries to convince him to trust in him. He puts Mowgli in this deep slumber and cast a curse upon him saying; slowly and surely your senses will cease to resist.

Example The term deceived seems to mean to cause to forget, to entice, making a fool out of someone, to lie, to trick, to hoodwink, con.....etc.

Exercise Read Genesis 3:1-24 Afterwards have a talk with God. Don't allow yourself to be misled by the deceiver. He wants you to forget what God has said to you, to entice you to abort your destiny, he wants to make a fool out of you, he is a liar, that is trying to trick you, hoodwink, con and rob you of the abundant life Christ came to offer you.

Devotion Lord I trust only You, I will not trust in the deceiver. I stand on the word of God and I resist the enemy. I pray that I wake from my slumber and be aware of the wiles of the devil. I let go of all the excuses because they only lead to deception. Christ is my intervention from the deceiver for He has crushed the head of the serpent. I pray for faith to seek You daily that I keep sincere and pure devotion only to You in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
