Planting

S.E.E.D. For Today_Invest (Planting)

Scripture "People harvest only what they plant." Galatians 6:7b New Century Version Bible

Sowing to the flesh and sowing to the spirit. Sowing to the flesh means to allow the old nature to have it's way, so also sowing to the Spirit means to allow the Holy Spirit to have His way. The one sower does their sowing in order to promote their flesh, the other does their sowing in order to promote the Spirit. This is dealing with corruption and life. Everyone is looking to reap the benefits of a good life, but people can only harvest what they plant. If we sow seeds to the flesh the harvest will be of fleshly benefits. In the flesh there is nothing good, there we deal with our lust and pleasure and the final harvest of the flesh is corruption. When we sow to the Spirit we reap the harvest of life and the Kingdom of God. Yesterday we talked about investing and risk tolerance. Corruption in the investment world strikes simultaneously it hits profit and benefit. It cripples growth and drains those investors returns. If you plant in corruption, you will reap corruption, so be careful how you plant. What profit will a man receive if by corruption gains everything but loses his soul.

Example to put something firmly in a particular place, to put seed or sow into the ground or into a container of the earth so that it will grow.

Exercise Read Galatians 6:7-10 With the choice you have been given where are you planting or investing your seed. God lets us know "whatever a man sows that is what he will reap" you are entitled to a return, but what have you planted? Check your planting method is it of corruption or life.

Devotion Lord today I pray for wisdom. I know that you invested your Son's life for an exchange for mine. I pray for the knowledge to sow in the Spirit that I reap the harvest of Your Spirit and Your Kingdom. Help my flesh the parts of me that knows how to satisfy itself but defy's Your word by doing it. I pray for the obedience to plant well that the harvest is well with my soul in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
