CROSS-EXAMINE

S.E.E.D. For Today_Cross-Examine

Scripture "Put me on trial, Lord and cross-examine me. Test my motives and my heart." Psalms 26:2 NLT

This is not an expression of self-righteousness but the honest testimony of a real man of God. The words examine and test refer to the testing of metals to determine their true value and to remove the rubbish. This is a prayer rendered to God that He would help the inner man of the psalmist, through examination, and investigation. We need God to morally put us on trial, withholding nothing. We ought to enter God's court with praise and thanksgiving knowing it is He that knows the intent of each of our hearts, interrogate our motives oh God and the self-deception that lurks within, search for evidence of any ways that must be judged and purged by the guidelines of your Word. That we may be vindicated in your presence, judge our case favorably. Don't let us suffer the fate of those who rebel against you and don't condemn us along with murderers, so redeem us and show us mercy.

Example to examine by questions intended to check a previous examination; examine closely or minutely. In a court of law to examine as for the purpose of discrediting the witnesses testimony.

Exercise Read Psalms 26 Journal or talk to God about what is in your life that's discrediting your testimony. What are some things that you are still guilty of, put the issues on trial.

Devotion Lord I wash my hands at Your altar, singing a song of thanksgiving and telling of your wonders. Lord I pray that I will trust in You and not waver that when all is said and done You will declare me innocent. I pray to live a life according to Your truth, that I do not end up on trial as those who commit crimes against You. I wash my hands of my old ways, cross-examine me, and judge me with your favor that I will dwell in the place where Your glorious presence dwells in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
