THE FREE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING

SE.E.D. For Today___Grace

Scripture "Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God's glorious standard, and all need to be made right with God by His grace, which is a free gift." Romans 3:23-24a New Century Vision

This is the gift from God that through Jesus Christ men are made free from sin. God sent Him to die in our place to take away our sins, to receive forgiveness through faith in the blood of Jesus death. "But the scripture declares that whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe." (Gal.3:22) Grace is the gift of God, we were all doomed but God grants us this unmerited favor and bestow us with His great love and justifies us with the life of His only begotten Son. When we think of this it is rather hard to fathom because of how we are and the world in which we live but it's true. While in sin God gave Jesus to take on our debt and gave us grace instead of death. In the Old Testament God manifested His glory on the mercy seat to those who originally deserved punishment and judgment. The priest had to sprinkle blood seven times on the mercy seat to make atonement for God's people. But today because of Christ  who became the atonement for the world, we have been given the grace, the mercy and the favor of God instead of His wrath. It cost God everything, for us it's just the free gift that keeps on giving.

Example A prominent Old Testament word for grace is chesed. This word speaks of deliverance from enemies, affliction, or adversity. It also denotes enablement, daily guidance, forgiveness, and preservation. In the New Testament the word is charis. It focuses on the provision of salvation. It also means God's love in action towards men who merited the opposite of love. Grace is God moving heaven and earth to save sinners, the unmerited or undeserved favor of God.

Exercise Read Romans 3:23-31 Journal and Talk to God.

Devotion Lord I thank you again and again for Your grace, for it is the free gift that keeps on giving to me. I thank You for I know that Your grace is sufficient in every area of my life. Thank You for the grace that ables us, that guides us, that forgives and preserves us. The grace that delivers us from our enemies, that is sufficient for our afflictions and adversity, Thank You for not cutting us off, but instead You blessed, we honor You in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you

THE SAFE PLACE

S.E.E.D. For Today___ Safety Scripture "God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble." Psalms 46:1 New Life Version In light of all that is going on in our world God is the most dependable person we know. Murder, and violence plague our city's and nothing seems to be safe anymore. When everything seems to be falling apart God is our safety, our refuge from the storms of life. He doesn't protect us in order to pamper us, He shelter's us so He can strengthen us to go back to life with it's duties and dangers. Trouble describes people who are in tight places in a corner and unable to get out, but we are not to be afraid. The earth may change and things will be in utter chaos, but in the Lord we have safety. Though everything around us and in us seems to be restless, God is in control. God is our safe place, in His will, in His hands He got the whole world, He formed it, shaped it, created it, and man co

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda
