A CALL TO ACTION

S.E.E.D. For Today____Holy

Scripture "But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: Be holy, because I am holy." I Peter 1:15-16  NIV

"Therefore prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance." God commands us to be holy in our behavior simply because He is holy. The standard of holiness must be God's standard and we must seek to live up to that. The formula for holy living is not that we are perfect but the total commitment of our self to God. It's our heartfelt response to the Lord's mercy and grace. Our holy lifestyle is according to biblical standards and not the lifestyle of the world. This does not come without hard work and a tight level of discipline, though challenging it must be developed in us.

Example The Hebrew word for holy is qodesh and means apartness, set-apartness, separateness, sacredness or maybe otherness. In the New Testament the word for holy is hagios and means set apart, reverend, sacred and worthy of great respect. God is not just holy, but He is holy, holy, holy.

Exercise Read I Peter 1:13-25 Journal and talk to God. We must guard our emotional life for that is often the means to the vulnerability that drives us to let go of the godly standard to life. Because we do anything that makes us feel better when our emotional life is off. Emotionally, socially mentally, physically and morally we must maintain a godly lifestyle. This is A Call To Action! What disciplines do you have in place to be holy in all you do? If none then prepare your mind for action.

Devotion Lord I thank You for this day that You have made, I desire to walk in Your holiness. Faith is a action word and by faith I must not conform to the world but set apart to be transformed by the renewing of my mind. Daily this must be my workout. I have been born again not to my former life but to a new life that will last forever. I pray to walk in obedience and not slip back into my old ways of living, but to be holy in all that I do in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you

THE SAFE PLACE

S.E.E.D. For Today___ Safety Scripture "God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble." Psalms 46:1 New Life Version In light of all that is going on in our world God is the most dependable person we know. Murder, and violence plague our city's and nothing seems to be safe anymore. When everything seems to be falling apart God is our safety, our refuge from the storms of life. He doesn't protect us in order to pamper us, He shelter's us so He can strengthen us to go back to life with it's duties and dangers. Trouble describes people who are in tight places in a corner and unable to get out, but we are not to be afraid. The earth may change and things will be in utter chaos, but in the Lord we have safety. Though everything around us and in us seems to be restless, God is in control. God is our safe place, in His will, in His hands He got the whole world, He formed it, shaped it, created it, and man co

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda
