The Power of Worship

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.

Have you ever had one of those days when nothing seems to go right. One of those days when you wanted to tell a few people where to get on and get off. Today was one of those days for me, I became so frustrated that I wanted to get back at something or someone because I felt like everything was coming up agaisnt me. You know how it is when you wake up all excited about the day and before you know it the whole day crashes in a way until you are ready to come out of character. As I began to get angry the Word of God came to my remembrance, "though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal", I realized at that moment that I better pull out one of my weapons and use it immediately. I begin to worship God for the day and no matter what was happening I would give Him a praise that He deserves knowing that would help me battle today's issues. What a difference it made, I began to calm down and things began to work itself out as a result of the power of worship.

The Word of God and prayer are weapons of divine power, as I begin to worship it begin to change my attitude and calmed me in such a way that I begin to pray and ask God for His supernatural assitance to help me through the day and He did. See the enemy would love for us to get angry about any oppositon we encounter during our daily lives, those circumstances that would come to cause the old man to rise up and respond to situations in ways we regret later. So be careful, never let the enemy confuse you about what and who you are fighting daily.

You see my worship demolished every bad pretension, bringing every thought into captivity, making my thoughts subject to the one I serve who is Christ. We can wage successful spiritual warfare by abandoning our worldy ways and attitudes, as I began to worship it helped began to reshape my thinking through the knowledge of the word and as I continued to pray I felt like in my mind I was winning the battle, because I was. It is so much easier to deal with things as they come by natural means. Maybe you wanted to hurt someone or use language that is not appropiate for Chritians, but think about it, we have other powerful tools that can help win the war against anything that is in opposition of you living and doing what's right. One is the power of worship. Next time try it and see that by the end of the day you will have the right to raise your hands with victory!

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

A MATTER OF HUMAN DIGNITY

S.E.E.D. For Today__ Humanity Scripture "So God created human beings in His image. In the image of God He created them. Genesis  1:27 NLT In light of everything that we are facing in our society today, police brutality and the horrific and senseless crimes that we commit against one another mankind must remember that we are destroying God's masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10 tells us;  "For we are God's masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago." This was never God's plan He knew that after Adam sinned that all mankind would no longer have His nature so He sent His Son into the world that we would again be like Him. He knows the heart of men, and His message to us is to love one another as you love yourself. Love and hate are at war, this is not about race, this is a matter of human dignity. Example Humanity is the human race the action of humanity is humanness, benevolence, compassi...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...
