"The Royals"

"But you are God's chosen generation, His royal priesthood, His holy nation, His peculiar people, all the old titles of God's people now belong to you. It is for you now to demonstrate the goodness of Him who has called you out of darkness into His amazing light. In the past you were not a people at all: now you are the people of God. In the past you had no experience of His mercy, but now it's intimately yours." I Peter 2:9

Peter gives a clear contrast of the destiny and privilege of believers. As a believer we are a distinct group from the rest of the world, unified by the Holy Spirit. Not by a physical birth but by spiritual rebirth into the royal family through Jesus Christ. In light of that you must live according to this principle of no longer living a commoner's life. Walk in retrospect of the Kingdom of which you represent, unique and holy. Remember to hold fast to what you have for the Lord is coming soon, see to it that no one takes your crown. (ref. verse Rev. 3:11)

Royal is either belonging to a King (Kingdom) or having kingly power, dignity,  or authority. We as believers belong to a Kingdom whom citizens are priest, royal priest that is. "We keep the royal law found in scripture, loving others as we love ourselves."(ref. scripture James 2:8) Let us train and think as royals, who were not initially born into royalty. At one time we were not a people but thanks to God through Jesus He loved us, called us and made us His.

Today I encourage you to understand the value of your royal lineage. We were adopted and inherited all that belongs to the King of Kings. We belong to the One who sits on the throne in Heaven and uses the earth as His footstool. Don't ever let life or people downgrade you again, your not a peasant but a priest, a royal priest. We give all Glory and Honor "to Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priest to serve His God and Father, to Him be Glory and Power for ever and ever! Amen." (ref. scripture Rev. 1:6)

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
