It' Time To Grow Up

"Obey God because you are His children: don't slip back into your old ways, doing evil because you knew no better. But be holy now in everything you do, just as the Lord is holy, who invited you to be His child. He Himself has said, "You must be holy, for I am holy. SO Get Rid of your feelings of hatred. Don't just pretend to be good! Be done with dishonesty and jealousy and talking about others behind their backs. Now that you realize how kind the Lord has been to you, put away all evil, deception, envy, and fraud. Long to grow up into the fullness of your salvation; cry for this as a baby cries for his milk." I Peter 1:14,2:1-3 TLB

This ethical transformation must take place for all who call themselves children of God. We are to put to rest the cravings of this world and crave for the spiritual milk of God, which is the sustenance of every newborns life. The goal of God's plan of redemption for mankind is to restore right relationships among people and between people and God. We have to get rid of every behavior that is not consistent with the Christian life. The vices that we are asked to put off destroy relationships, especially a believers relationship with God.

Grow up people of God, get rid of these hypocrisies, claiming to love other believers, but then we talk about them behind their backs, this type of activity can have no place amongst the children of God. Be honest and put off jealousy, don't get upset with others when you see them receive blessings, but think about what the Lord has already done for you. We are all described as reborn children of God, regardless of how long ago your conversion has been. We still need the spirtual milk of God to help us to grow into the fullness of our salvation.

It's time to grow up! Stop hating, don't pretend to be good, faking your sentiments for one another, while holding petty thoughts against your brother or sister. Children with no parenting act like that, for they long for someone to care enough to give them direction, but since they don't have it they take their hurt out on others. But we are not parentless, we have a Father who is concerned about our whole being, He has given us direction and we must follow it. Immaturity for too long makes one appear to be slow or maybe even retarded, why allow these evil behaviors to be the cause of your retardation. Don't slip back into your old ways, doing the things at that time, you did not know was wrong. Now the word has helped you understand that those behaviors are not God, and if you are a son or daughter of God how can you go back to committing those evil acts.

People of God, don't be a fraud, many can see whether or not you are a true child of God. Believe me when some of you open your mouths, the things that come out show that when you come to church you are just at recess from all the worldly things you love to do. Please don't live like that! You are suppose to have a new life, a life that has not been passed to you from your natural parents, for the life they gave you will fade away. This life you now have will last forever for it comes from Christ the one who died for your sins. It time to grow up family of God, cry for this as a baby cries for their milk, so we can become the son's and daughters God has called us to be and never be a dissapointement to Him or His church.

Be Blessed! God loves you and He's calling you into a complete relationship with Him. Seek Him now, while there is still time.

  2. Pastor this is EXCELLENT! It is definitely time for the body of Christ to grow up, seek maturity and be accountable for our actions. In doing so we will be able to see that it’s not about us but about being an example to those who don’t know Christ in order to win them over to Salvation.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
