The Price We Pay For not Thinking

"The weight of stone and sand is nothing compared to the trouble that stupidity can cause. Sensible people will see trouble coming and avoid it, but an unthinking person will walk right into it and regret it later." Proverbs 27:2,12 Good News Bible

How long will we live in the state of regret. Many of us can't even count the countless mistakes we have made, the chances we have taken, and the things we have lost as a result of not thinking. In today's society people are so impulsive, whatever comes to mind is how most people respond to every day life. Life can already be a challenge, but whenever one is faced with any challange, offer or opportunity, we need to sit back and really think about the choices we make. Will it benefit me for the moment or will this choice be something of value that I will not regret in time to come.

One of the definitions for stupidity is, extremely rash or thoughtless behavior. Some of us act out of extreme thoughtless behavior, we don't think about results before we make a move. Why do so many Christians end up in situations that have nothing to do with the Lord? Because we never think about things before we do it. As Christians we really should think about "What would Jesus do" in this particular situation. If Jesus ever in His days on earth came across temptation or personal struggles with fulfilling the will of God, He set Himself apart to go to the Father for help and guidance. He never did what He felt like doing, His choices were always what the Father wanted. I know that we are not Jesus, but we were created in His image and we should strive in every way to live in the image of Christ.

The cost of stupidity, is more weight than sand and stones, the trouble it causes weighs more than most of us can carry. So why do we continue to make choices that cause us so much trouble? The word clearly tells us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not to our own understanding, but acknowledge Him in all our ways and let Him direct our path. Instead of making the same stupid decisions day and after day, year upon year, we need to let the Lord lead and guide us in where we go and what we do, who we hang out with, and even who we should share our inner most feelings with. The Bible confirms that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. Why keep paying a high price for not thinking, why not cast all your cares and decisons on God, get His advice, so you can live with no regrets! Stop paying more than you want to pay.

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda

Looking Forward to What Lies Ahead

"But all these things that I once thought very worthwhile, now I've thrown them all away so that I can put my trust and hope in Christ alone. Yes everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have put aside all else, counting it worth less than nothing, in order that I can have Christ, and become one with Him, no longer counting on being saved by being good enough or by obeying God's laws, but by trusting Christ to save me; for God's way of making us right with Himself depends on faith, counting on Christ alone. Now I have given up everything else, I have found it to be the only way to really know Christ and to experience the mighty power that brought Him back to life again, and to find out what it means to suffer and to die with Him. So whatever it takes, I will be one who lives in the fresh newness of life of those who are alive from the dead. I don't mean to say I am perfect. I haven't learned all I sho
