"The Lord knows those who are really His, and a person who calls himself a Christian should not be doing things that are wrong. Run from anything that gives you the evil thoughts that young men often have, but stay close to anything that makes you want to do right." 2Timothy 2:19-20 The Living Bible
How are you living? These days it is very hard to tell the difference between believers and unbelievers. We have become so accustomed to secular ways that people even find scripture to justify why the church has to adapt to today's culture. I know that the church can't be the church of twenty or thirty years ago, but holiness is right and that doesn't change. I understand the need to reach out to this culture, so that many can get to know Christ, but the way some beleivers are living is out of order! We have traded holiness in for every ungodly pleasure and we are loving it instead of loving God.
Many in the church are very young, are gifted and called to the work of the Kingdom. Timothy was also a young man called to ministry, the Apostle Paul encouraged and warned him about the struggles he might encounter. In the third chapter of 2 Timothy he told this young man,"that in the last days it is going to be very difficult to be a Christian. For people will love only themselves and their money; they will be proud and boastful, sneering at God, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful to them, and throughly bad. They will be hardheaded and never give in to others; they will be constant liars and troublemakers and will think nothing of immorality. They will be rough and cruel and sneer at those who try to be good. They will betray their friends; they will be hotheaded, puffed up with pride, and prefer good times to worshipping God. They will go to church, yes, but they won't really believe anything they hear. Don't be taken in by people like that."
I know it may not seem fair and its hard to watch people enjoy themselves doing anything they want to do why your life may seem boring and no fun at all. You can enjoy your life, God wants you to have a good life here on earth before you get to heaven. But believers cannot live like heathens, we cannot bring all these heathenistic ways into the holiness of God, it does not mix. Listen people of God don't be taken in by how you see other proclaimed Christians living, don't get caught up in that. For everyone will give an account for the way they lived their lives, especially those who know better, but turned a deaf ear to God's word and had it their way. In the end it will be God's way. Christians get out of the clubs, put down your liquor glasses, get out of the bed of defilement, do an assessment of how you are living. God knows who really belongs to Him, the only person you are fooling is yourself. Take the time and do it now, stand in the mirror and ask the person facing you, look yourself right dead in the eye, and ask yourself this question. Self, How Are You Living? Is it to please God or am I doing what I want to satisfy myself. If you can be honest, your answer should help and lead you to do whatever it takes to get right with God.
How are you living? It should be a life of Holiness and not Helling. Correct yourself before you wreck yourself!

Wow, such a profound insight into the issues facing all Christians. Too many times we have the church relationship right, but we fail miserably at the intimate relationshiop with Christ.
