"So, then, be careful how you live. Do not be unwise but wise, making the best use of time because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Stop getting drunk with wine, which leads to wild living, but keep on being filled with the Spirit. Then you will recite to one another psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. You will sing and make music to the Lord with your hearts. You will always give thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. And you will submit yourselves to one another out of reverence for Christ." Ephesians 5:15-20 ISV Bible
Those who are wise will have a right attitude to time. The world in which we live is filled with dangers and deceptions. It is not always easy to live an enlightened life even when we want to. We can get tripped up or ambushed by events and people without even being aware of the danger. We must be very careful to live our life rooted in wisdom, using our time wisely. Not to do so would be a foolish act. Believers are to be very careful how they live, and therefore they should not return to the senseless ways of the past. Make the best of the opportune time afforded to you.
Place close attention to how you behave, your attitude and your arrogance can be major down falls for Christians. We think we can walk around and roll our eyes at people, brothers having major arguments in church, everyone wants to be important these days. Let go of all those grudges, your wasting time holding a grudge against someone. Change your ways, redeem the time you have left, pleasing God so that your time on earth will be meaningful and not a life wasted, with not enough time to get it right. Time is here to serve you that you will fulfill the will of God in the earth and live in the abundant life the Lord has promised His people. We miss out because we let time get away when we lose the understanding of how precious time is.
If you had a bank that credited your account each morning with $86,400, that carried no balance from day to day, allowed you to keep no cash in your account, and finally every evening canceled whatever part of the amount you had failed to use during the day, what would you do? Draw out every cent, of course! Well, you have such a bank and its name is “Time.” Every morning it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it rules off as lost, whatever of this you had failed to invest to good purpose. It carries no balances. It allows no balances. It allows no overdrafts. Each day the bank named “Time” opens a new account with you. Each night it burns the records of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposits the loss is yours. —Robert G. Lee
The clock of life is wound but once, And no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop, at late or early hour. To lose one’s wealth is sad indeed. To lose one’s health is more. To lose one’s soul is such a loss
That no man can restore. Thirty-nine people died while you read this short poem. Every hour 5,417 people go to meet their Maker. What are YOU doing to help reach them with the Gospel before they are cast into Hell? (Author Unknown)Time is definitely of the essence! Why are you wasting such a precious commodity? While we still waste time arguing or trying to fix our senseless past we forfeit the time we have at the present to get us to our future. People are dying and have not had the opportunity for salvation because we are wasting opportunities to be a witness. Why? Because we are caught up in a time that is now gone.
Time is of the essence people of God, redeem the time you are given now. Don't chase after time that has already come and gone, give it up. Make the most of the moments, the seconds, the minutes, the hours, that are alloted to you today. Make the most of this opportune season. Don't miss out, God is telling us to make the best use of the time He is giving us to please Him in every way and to love one another so that people can see Christ in the earth, for the days are evil and Time is of the Essence!
