"The light will be among you a little longer. Continue on your way while you have the light, so that the darkness will not come upon you; for the one who walks in the dark does not know where he is going. Believe in the light, then, while you have it, so that you will be the people of the light.”
John 12:35-36 GNB
Have you ever had a crisis in which you deliberately and emphatically and recklessly abandoned everything? It is a crisis of will. You may abandon your will many times externally, but it amounts to nothing. The real deep crisis of abandonment is reached internally, not externally.
Have you deliberately committed your will over to Jesus Christ? It is a transaction of will, not of emotion, most times in service or in prayer we give up things and it is only an emotional transaction and never an internal one. Your emotion is simply the gilt-edge of the transaction. If you allow your emotions to be first, you will never make the transaction. Do not ask God what the transaction is to be, for most of us know what we must abandon in order to live in the will of God and not our's.
We all have moments when we feel better than our best, and we say I feel like I can do this, I can move on, I can let go, I can be free and abandon every weight that so easily attacks my mind on all sides, every time I make a decision. If only I could have those best moments always! Those moments when my weaknesses don't overtake me, but I understand that every day is not an easy day and we don't always feel or be at our best. Those better moments are moments of insight which we have to live up to, even when we do not feel like it.
Never allow a feeling which was stirred in you in your best hour to evaporate. We have to learn to live in the grey day according to what we experienced on our best day.
Don’t cave in because your circumstances are pretty baffling to you right now, keep on trusting in Christ, He will help you make this transaction, He knows He has been there. In the garden of Gesthemane, Jesus experienced making the same transaction of His will committing it unto the Father. He abandoned His emotions and His feelings in the flesh to go all the way to Calvary on our behalf, the good thing is He didn't cave in. Where would we be if He did? Growing up people always said don't burn your bridges, you never know when you might have to cross that bridge again. But today I have learned differently, burn the bridges behind you, because most of those bridges we never need to cross again, don't make things easy to travel back to. Once you have made your decison, don't cave in, stand committed to God by your choice of letting go and abandoning your own way. Never revise your decisions, to make it feel right for you, but see to it that you make your decision based on, in the light of this hour.
"The light will be among you a little longer. Continue on your way while you have the light, so that the darkness will not come upon you; for the one who walks in the dark does not know where he is going. ” Don't cave in you can make this transaction even though the way seems dark, even though you may not want to, let's get it together and do what we have to, while the light is still among us. The cave can be a dark and a lonely place, yes though you walk through the cave, keep going through and come out. Don't collapse on this journey full of transaction, transition and making decisions, the light is there to receive and strengthen, don't change your mind stand, and stick with the plan. Wahtever you do DON"T CAVE IN!

Amen, Amen!!! This is a awesome post. God always has a way of answering our prayers, doubts and daily madness with his word. Sunday and Monday were grey days for me. I did not feel at my best. I made mistakes. I reflected on them and kept it moving, trying to be better thru the Holy Spirit. Hashing out a new plan and asking God for direction. We all have to climb the mountain of faith to get to where God is taking us.
