"Live creatively friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day's out. Stoop down and reachout to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ's law. If you think, you are too good for that, you are badly deceived." Galatians 6:1-3 The Message Bible
However perplexed you may at any hour become about some question of truth, one refuge and resource is always at hand, you can do something for someone besides yourself. At the times when you cannot see God, there is still open to you this sacred possibility, to show God, for it is the love and kindness of human hearts through which the divine reality comes home to men, whether they name it or not. Let this thought, then stay with you, there may be times when you cannot find help, but there is no time when you cannot give help. "George Merriam"
We each have a load to bear, made up of temptations, failures, problems and sorrows. But we can help one another. All Christians have burdens. Our burdens may differ in size and shape and will vary in kind depending on the providential ordering of our lives. For some it is the burden of temptation and the consequences of a moral lapse. For others it may be a physical ailment, or mental disorder, or family crisis, or lack of employment, or demonic oppression, or a host of other things, but no Christian is exempt from burdens. "Creation itself is broken and groaning, and believers groan with it, waiting for the final deliverance that will come only with the return of our Redeemer in glory. Prosperity gospels of easy believism and quick-fix recovery belong more to the spirit of this age than to the Spirit of Christ". (NAC)
But there is one small load we must always carry ourselves. It is the personal baggage of our own inner attitude, which is a matter between ourselves and God. Some of us carry heavy personal issues that block us from loving and being kind. So how do I overcome myself and live in the purpose and will of God? By helping others you will in turn, help yourself. It will take you outside of your troubles and your issues, as you help someone carry a little of their baggage. Your mind won't be on you and before you know it someone will come along and take a load off you and help you carry. This is how we exhibit the Love of God and fulfill His commandment to love one another and at the same time you will have helped yourself by being obedient to the word of God.
The church today always has something negative to say about one another, especially, when a brother and sister is in trouble. We analyze how they could have gotten there and act like we have the gift of prophecy, saying things like, I knew that was going to happen. But have you analyzed how you got where you are at the moment and the negative attitude you must have as you make your phone sessions, emails and text about someone else and their issues. It's time to put up, or shut up! If you can't help then don't hinder your brother and sister with your critical comments. Specifically stop dogging people with your mouth, remember every dog has it's day. By helping others you will help yourself, and if you think you are above any of this then you have been deceived.
