MIND MATTERS

S.E.E.D. For Today____Thought Life

Scripture "And now dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right and pure and lovely and admirable. Think about these things that are excellent and worthy of praise." Philippians 4:8 NLT

The mind is made up of a mass per se of matter. It is the heart and soul of human beings. It's the central station that operates the body, it's like a head quarters that sends messages to it's constituents on what they should be doing. Its the part of us that thinks, reasons, remembers, our understanding and feelings. The aspects of how we perform are synchronized into this one element of the body in the compartment called the brain. What occupies your mind, many of us daily release our thought life on social media. We wake up turn on the phone and facebook asks you what's on your mind. Paul was listing things in this letter to the Philippians of the things that should occupy their minds. The mind matters, it can count for God when saturated with His standard, His Word shows is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and of a good report. We are to fill the thought life with whatever is of value and praise to God. Mark Twain wrote that a person's real life is in the head and is known to none but himself. All day long, the mill of a person's brain is grinding, and the thoughts are a person's history. What is your thought life, it matters to God and it should matter to you. Fix your thought on what is true, dismiss everything else that challenges the report God has published for your life.

Example Thought is the process of mental activity, ideas or notions, opinions, that what is formed in our mind, the process of thinking.

Exercise Read Philippians 4:4-8 Journal and Talk to God

Devotion Lord I pray for my thought life. What is on my mind? Your Word says that if I keep my mind on You that You will give my mind the peace and rest that my natural thoughts can't provide. I pray that I will fix my thoughts on what is true and right, pure and lovely, positive that have value and meaning, casting down every thought that comes to exalt itself above Your truth. I bring my mind under the submission of the Word of God that I may please and honor You in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
