MAN ON FIRE!

S.E.E.D. For Today___Imperfection

Scripture "Indeed we all make many mistakes. For if we could also control our tongues we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way." James 3:2 NLT

James goes into detail about the importance of controlling our tongues. For many the art of holding back on words to express our emotions is challenging and distressing. It is so natural to gossip and criticize and slander for it is difficult not to sin with the tongue if we would all be honest. Most of us tend to talk to much, we don't know how to subdue or tame our tongues. During conversations although we outwardly control ourselves, inside we are mumbling all types of sayings and so and so's.  We sin with the tongue so easily and if we could control the tongue we could control everything else in our lives. Words give life to everything, they create good or bad. Being mindful to restrain from lashing out with our tongues is to be perfect or spiritually mature, but many of us are still dealing with imperfection the inability to contain the things that can start fires in our lives and the lives of others. The tongue can often be an undesirable feature.

Example A fault, blemish or undesirable feature. A defect, flaw, the state of being faulty or incomplete or immature state. Not conformed to a standard or rule, esthetically or morally defective. An indicative mood, disobedience.

Exercise Read James 3:2-12 Journal and Talk to God. "People can tame all kinds of animals, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison, a flame of fire. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses, so blessing and cursing comes pouring out of the same mouth, this is not right." NLT Are you a man on fire? Pray today that God will give you the strength not to flick your bic.

Devotion Lord I thank You for today. I thank You for the Word of God that betters my life. I pray for my imperfections especially the immaturity that exist as a result of my words. My tongue if used wisely can put out fires, create wealth, health and right relationship if I perfect it. I pray that I will not blemish who I am by this defect that lives within me. I pray that even in what I say I will retain the standard of Your Word. I pray not to bless and curse from this awesome tool for life which is the tongue. You spoke everything into existence with words. I do want to be a Man On Fire for Christ,  not because I can't control my mouth! Lord save me from myself in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
