DON"T GET RIPPED!

S.E.E.D. For Today___Influence

Scripture "We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth." Ephesians 4:14c NLT

As we research the letter Paul wrote to the Ephesians we know that there were false prophets who were preaching another gospel and introducing various teachings that kept people tossed with doubts.  The enemy has taken the word of God in cunning and craftiness lying in wait to deceive as he did Eve. Don't get ripped by all the prophecies and messages that tantalize our flesh, as we throw our money at the feet of those who lure us by words that stroke our egos and declarations that feed our desires and predictions that validate our plans. The truth will set you free but at first it will indeed piss you off for it is for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness.

Example Influence is the capacity to have an effect on character development, power exerted
over the minds or behavior of someone or something, without apparent exertion of force or direct exercise of command. The power to shape policy or ensure favorable treatment from someone. In the slang it is ripped as under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Exercise Read Ephesians 4:11-16 Journal and Talk to God; Being under the influence is a term used to basically describe when someone is heavily intoxicated or high from substance use, it also relates to a term being ripped. When a person is ripped he or she is confused and their minds are full of many things and hard to determine truth, don't allow yourself to get ripped or tossed into a sea of doubt by believing in something that sounds like the truth. Study your word!

Devotion Lord I thank You for this day. I pray for a sober mind that I will not get ripped, influenced by the those who use the word of God to mislead others. I pray for an understanding of your word that I will be able to stand against all deceit of the enemy, he will always use your word to deceive your people and entice us by our own lust. I pray for the wisdom to rightly divide the word of truth. I pray that I will not allow other tools of influence as twitter, Facebook, and instagram to become my resource for scripture, but I will unplug set aside time for understanding and sobriety from sin in Jesus Name Amen.

Bursting Out Of It!

S.E.E.D. For Today:  Scripture: "Is this not the the fast which I have chosen: Loosen the bonds of wickedness." ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Explanation: There should be the right motive when we fast. The people of God in Isaiah observed but there was no change in them. When fasting we do not want to look at it as a religious ritual, but a means to transformation. The fruit of repentance ought to be evident in relationship with one another and our neighbor. If we fast and persist in arrogance, stubbornness, fighting and strife then we are only doing this out of routine. Exercise: Prayer is important to experience the grace and power of God when fasting. Without the consistency of prayer we will not see breakthrough. God is challenging us to do the fast He has chosen, the first means of business is releasing or loosing the bonds of wickedness. Whatever besets itself and entangles you again under the same slave system of missing the mark with God has to let you go. I challenge you ...

UN-DO!

S.E.E.D. For Today: Scripture: "Undo The Heavy Burdens" ( Isaiah 58:6 ) Example: There was a great deal of injustice in the land and with the rich exploiting the poor and the rulers using their authority only to make themselves richer. It was a conflict between truth and lies, just like in our land today. The people of God were no different in operating under the same system as this. But God called them out and wanted them to understand that their fasting was in vain if they did not undo the heavy burden they placed on others while still outwardly devoting themselves to religion or as they thought to God. Exercise: Let's invite the Holy Spirit to solve problems and aid us in lifting loads and overcome barriers that keep us and our loved ones from walking joyfully in the Lord. In self-denying love and care for others, let's undo any heavy burden or untie any yoke that we may have placed upon friends, family, associates or even employees. Devotion: Lord toda...

What to Wear, What Not to Wear!

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:2,5-8,13 TLC has a show entitled What Not to Wear. In this reality tv series family and friends recommend people for total transformation. The concept of the program is to take an individual who has not been able to give up garments that are old and out dated, clothing that leaves them lookin...
