A New Batch

S.E.E.D. For Today Scripture: "Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast as you really are."For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed."  I Corinthians 5:7 Explanation: This is implying in reference to the remnant of the old heathenish and natural corruption of sin. The metaphor is taken from the extreme care of the Jews in searching every corner of their houses, and purging out every particle of yeast from the time of killing the lamb before Passover.  Exhortation: As Christians we are to continually search and purge our hearts before the Lord. "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me and I shall be whiter than snow." Psalms 51:7 We are free from the leaven or yeast of sin and death, know who you really are, Christ has already been sacrificed as our passover lamb removing the old yeast which should have been purged out long ago. Devotion: In Matthew 16:6 Jesus gives a stern warning, "Be c...

Empty Your Heart

S.E.E.D. For Today Scripture: " Turn to Me, says the Lord, with all your heart while there is time. Empty your hearts, not just your stomachs. Fast with weeping and mourning." Joel 2:12 ELT Version Explanation: God is not impressed with the outward show of fasting, through the prophet Joel God, expressed Himself, letting the people know tearing your garments which was an outward show of grief did not impress Him and that He would rather the people tear their hard hearts and return to the God of their deliverance and salvation. Exaltation: "Return to Me, Your Lord and God who knows if I give you mercy and a blessing instead of a curse? Perhaps I'll give you abundant blessings.  Joel V.14.... " Isaiah 30:18  says that the Lord longs to be gracious to us; He rises to show us compassion. For the Lord is a just God and will bless all those who wait for Him."....."No one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts o...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

S.E.E.D. For Today  Scripture: "They who sow in tears shall reap in joy." "Going forth he shall go and weep, carrying the price of the seed: coming he shall return with rejoicing, carrying his sheaves with him." Psalms 126:5-6 John Calvin Commentary On The Book Of Psalms Explanation: The psalmist prayed for the restoration of the land to it's fruitfulness and convince the people to return to Zion and join in God's program to restore the community as they centered themselves in The City of David. Their response to this appeal would reverse the misfortune of their captivity. Example: The People being to sang praises to God, for God took a course of action against the oppressive circumstances of which they had to endure. It was like a dream come true, those who went off wth heavy hearts (weeping ) would come home with armloads of blessings. As the psalmist exhorted them I exhort you to know that God is moving in 2018 on your behalf. He is goin...
